William A. "Bill" Mathieu, 69, passed in peace in the comfort of his own home on May 4, 2021 after a valiant battle with ALS.

He was born December 10, 1951 in Central Fall, RI to the late Maurice "Mo" & Gisele Mathieu.

Bill served in the US Marine Corps for two years during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

He enjoyed being with family & friends, eating great food, and could never resist a given opportunity to show off on the dance floor. His moves were magical & will live on proudly through future family gatherings. He was a man of faith, loved riding his Harley, a die hard Patriots fan, and there was nothing quite like getting up at the crack of dawn on Sunday mornings to get the perfect spot at the beach.

He is survived by his three children, William H. Lopatka & wife, Nikki Lopatka, Ashley E. Lopatka & partner, Brian Nary Jr., and Robert A. Lopatka & wife, Julia Lopatka, Seven grandsons, Carter, Jordan, Blake, Leo, Pierson, Cyrus, and Jackson, former partner & mother of children, Joanne W. Lopatka, two brothers, Rene Mathieu & wife, Lisa Mathieu, Roland Mathieu & wife, Lynn Mathieu, two sisters, Catherine Gleason & husband, Russell Gleason, and Michelle Cote & husband, Michael Cote.

A viewing service will take place on Monday, May 10, 2021 from 9:30 a.m-12pm at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI 02865, followed by a 1:30 burial service with military honors at Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 301 S County Trail, Exeter, RI 02822
